Gaydos Announces Keystone Grant for Sewickley Public Library Improvements

April 8, 2026

HARRISBURG – Residents of Sewickley and surrounding communities can look forward to significant improvements at the Sewickley Public Library, according to Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny).

The Sewickley Public Library has been awarded $750,000 through the Keystone Grants for Public Library Facilities program to support the redesign and renovation of its first-floor spaces. The project will enhance accessibility, functionality and the overall visitor experience for patrons.

“I am pleased to see this important investment in one of our community’s most valued resources,” said Gaydos. “Public libraries play a vital role in providing educational opportunities, access to technology and community programming for residents of all ages.”

The Keystone Grants for Public Library Facilities program, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Office of Commonwealth Libraries, supports projects that improve library infrastructure, including upgrades for accessibility, energy efficiency and essential building systems, as well as renovations and expansions of public spaces.

“Libraries are cornerstones of lifelong learning,” said Gaydos. “This funding will help strengthen services and create a more welcoming, modern space for families, students and individuals who rely on the library every day.”
