Gaydos: Impact Fee Revenue Supports Local Priorities
June 17, 2026
HARRISBURG - Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today highlighted nearly $251,000 in Marcellus Shale impact fee revenue headed to municipalities across the 44th Legislative District, along with more than $2.04 million for Allegheny County. The funding gives local governments added flexibility to address infrastructure needs, public services and other community priorities.
“Pennsylvania’s energy industry continues to provide meaningful benefits to our communities,” said Gaydos. “These impact fee dollars help local governments address important needs such as road maintenance, public infrastructure, environmental stewardship and public safety services. The funds also help to ease the burden on local taxpayers.”
The following impact fee disbursements in the 44th District were announced:
• Aleppo Township - $1,041.
• Bell Acres Borough - $1,683.
• Crescent Township - $1,851.
• Edgeworth Borough - $1,537.
• Findlay Township - $190,057.
• Glen Osborne Borough - $519.
• Glenfield Borough - $86.
• Haysville Borough - $30.
• Leet Township - $1,065.
• Leetsdale Borough - $1,152.
• Moon Township - $17,313.
• North Fayette Township - $29,942.
• Sewickley Borough - $2,839.
• Sewickley Heights Borough - $939.
• Sewickley Hills Borough - $493.
For the reporting year of 2025, natural gas producers paid almost $244 million in impact fees statewide, for a total of more than $3.12 billion since the program began in 2012.
Under Act 13 of 2012, impact fees are collected from drilling companies, with a significant portion returned directly to counties and municipalities affected by natural gas development. The remaining revenue supports the Marcellus Shale Legacy Fund and statewide initiatives, including environmental programs, emergency response planning and training, water and sewer infrastructure projects and transportation improvements.
