Gaydos Issues Statement on Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) Vote

HARRISBURG – Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) today issued the following statement regarding the passage of House Bill 2025, which would require legislative approval before Pennsylvania could impose a carbon tax on electric generation, manufacturing or other industries operating in the Commonwealth, or enter into any multi-state program, such as the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), that would impose such a tax.

Gaydos Demands Greater Transparency from Secretary Levine, Department of Health

HARRISBURG – Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) has asked House Health Committee Chairman Kathy Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest) to schedule a public hearing to demand greater transparency from the Department of Health with respect to the inputs and criteria used by the governor and the department in making decisions regarding COVID-19. Chairman Rapp has confirmed a hearing will be scheduled in the near future.

Speaker Turzai, Members of the Allegheny County Delegation Ask Secretary of Health to Allow Hospitals to Open in Allegheny County

HARRISBURG – Speaker of the House Mike Turzai, joined by members of the Allegheny County House delegation, sent the attached letter to Dr. Rachel Levine, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, requesting she allow hospitals and health systems in the Allegheny County area to reopen to allow for the treatment of COVID-19 patients as well as the pre-planned, medically necessary surgeries that are currently being prevented.
